Imatra is a city in southeast Finland. It is situated in the region of South Karelia, which borders Russia. The Vuoksi River flows through the city. Established in 1948, it has become a modern industrial city after more than 50 years' development. It has a population of 28,000 and covers an area of 155 square kilometers. It is 230 km away from Helsinki airport.
