Founded in 1959, Jiaxing Hospital of TCM is a 3A-grade hospital specializing in traditional Chinese medicine and integrating medical services, teaching, research and rehabilitation. It is the affiliated hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University and Jiaxing University.

Its ophthalmology department, jointly constructed by Zhejiang province and the city of Jiaxing, is a clinical key specialty recognized by the National Health Commission. The proctology and preventive health care departments are key specialties constructed and cultivated by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine during the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015). The departments of spleen and stomach disease, endocrinology, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, acupuncture, massage and nursing were authorized as key TCM specialties by Zhejiang province during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020).

Jiaxing Hospital of TCM is equipped with high-end and cutting-edge medical facilities, including MRI, imported multi-slice spiral CT, full femtosecond laser device and electronic gastrointestinal mirror.
