Tongji Zhejiang College (TZC), authorized by the Ministry of Education, is an independent college of Tongji University providing full-time undergraduate education and operating in line with the new State mechanism and the new mode of operation.
TZC, covering about 56 hectares, lies in the south of the city, about three kilometers from the municipal government offices and about 100 km from Shanghai.
With an objective of being a cradle of creative and excellent engineers, TZC acts in accordance with Tongji University's three-in-one education philosophy of "Knowledge, Ability and Personality". The college emphasizes the cultivation of practice-oriented talents with professional skills. In respect of syllabus layout and course arrangement, it attaches great importance to the development of students' creativity and the improvement of their practical abilities. Graduates will thus be able to quickly adapt themselves to the technical work related to their majors.
TZC has more than 9,500 full-time undergraduates. Every year, it recruits undergraduate students from 20 provinces and cities nationwide.
TZC offers 30 majors, with over 600 staff members, more than 60 percent of whom have master's and doctoral degrees.
