Local residents in Wuzhen, Zhejiang province, are experiencing the benefits of an "intelligent life" through a group of projects, including 5G self-driving minibuses, 5G-AR (augmented reality) dressing mirrors and smart glasses.

5G self-driving minibuses

The 5G self-driving minibus developed by BroadXT Inc made its global debut on the first day of the sixth World Internet Conference, which was held from Oct 20 to 22 in Wuzhen. The vehicle was used to help ferry participants to the venue during the conference.

Powered by a variety of advanced techniques such as sensors and high-precision positioning, the fifth-generation wireless network and V2X (vehicle-to-everything) cooperative vehicle infrastructure system, the autonomous bus adopts a level-4 autopilot technology and can see pedestrians, vehicles and other obstacles within 200 meters.

5G-AR "dressing mirror"

Inside a fur store, a machine with an outline like a mirror caught visitors' attention. In front of this mobile 5G-AR "dressing mirror", shoppers can select the clothes they like by gestures to achieve instant digital changes of outfits.

According to its instructions, the 5G-AR dressing mirror can recognize the human figure of a customer through an infrared depth camera, connect to the cloud clothing model database through the 5G network, and then put on virtual clothes on the customer's image to complete a fitting in a very fast, interesting and high-tech way.

Digital Domain Space

This year, Digital Domain Space (Beijing) Media Technology Co, together with CITIC Group, debuted their new products at the expo in Wuzhen, attracting many participating experts and visitors to experience the products.

To better display the immersive viewing experience, Digital Domain Space brought the second generation of virtual reality interactive seats independently developed and equipped with VR glasses, adding more dimensions to the interactive experience.

"Content is the core competitiveness of the digital realm," said a staff member from Digital Domain Space.
