Jiaxing district recruits high-caliber professionals worldwide
Nanhu, a district in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, issued a notice on Feb 24 seeking skilled professionals from around the world, local media reported.
The notice states that such professionals should be involved in the new-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, healthcare, or new materials industries and have experience studying and working overseas.
They also cannot have worked in China for more than one year.
The professionals will receive a project subsidy of up to 100 million yuan ($14.22 million), a maximum award of eight million yuan, and a settling-in allowance of two million yuan.
Local companies that hire talents who participate in national or provincial overseas high-level professional introduction programs will receive a one-off subsidy of 600,000 yuan or 300,000 yuan per person.
Intermediary agencies that recommend professionals who participate in talent introduction programs for working in Nanhu district will receive an award of up to one million yuan.
In recent years, Nanhu district has been attempting to develop into a hub for skilled professionals. To date, 55 Nobel Prize winners and 152 prominent professionals have worked in the district.
In addition, Nanhu district is home to a number of research institutes and leading companies, including the Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University in Zhejiang, the Zhejiang Institute of Future Technologies, and StarPower Semiconductor Ltd, a leading power module company.
