Shortlist for Jiaxing logo system design contest published

The shortlist for the city logo system design competition launched by the Jiaxing municipal government in early 2020 was published on March 13, local media reported.

There are 100 entries on the list, which was announced on the official website of competition platform Young Bird Plan (www.designverse.com.cn), one of the two sponsors of the competition.

The design competition attracted 375 participants, including 139 foreign participants from 33 countries, including the United States, Germany, France, Denmark, Russia, South Korea and Poland.

The participants come from 251 universities and 73 design institutions and offices, including the China Academy of Art, University of Hong Kong, Columbia University, and Waseda University.

The top 30 list is set to be announced on March 20, and the top three list and championship will be announced on April 2.

The champion will receive an award of 80,000 yuan ($11,000) and the runner-up and third-place winner will receive an award of 20,000 yuan each.

Jiaxing is the birthplace of the Communist Party of China and the origin of the revolutionary "Red Boat Spirit".

Jiaxing has a rich culture, with a history of 7,000 years of human civilization and 2,500 years of written records. It officially became a city in 1780.

Numerous renowned historical figures were born in the city, such as poets Liu Yuxi, painter Wu Zhen, translator Zhu Shenghao, and writer Mao Dun.
