Jiaxing cultural products on display in Beijing

Cultural and tourism companies from Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, attended an exhibition held in the Summer Palace, Beijing, from Sept 23 to 25, local media reported.

The exhibition showcases the history, culture and tourism routes in Zhejiang and is part of the Great Canal Cultural Belt Beijing Hangzhou Dialogue series of events.

Nanhu Lake scenic spot, Wuzhen scenic spot, Pinghu Longteng Culture and Tourism Co Ltd, and Haiyan Yantian Zhicai Co Ltd displayed the abundant tourism resources, beautiful natural environment, profound history, and special tourism products in Jiaxing.

Performances with Jiaxing characteristics were also staged for Beijing residents.

Li Zhoujie, inheritor of the Zhejiang intangible cultural heritage "Pinghu watermelon lantern", demonstrated carving an exquisite lantern from a watermelon.

Jiaxing is the first city that the Great Canal runs through in Zhejiang. Spanning 110 kilometers in the city, the Jiaxing section of the Great Canal boasts a host of historical and cultural relics, including Changhong Bridge, Xiucheng Bridge, Luofan Pavilion, and Nanhu Lake.
