The world's first very-high performance heterogeneous chip made by Jiaxing-based Zhejiang ICLeague Technology Co Ltd made its debut at a semiconductor-themed summit held in Haining, Jiaxing, Zhejiang from Sept 26 to 27, local media reported.

The chip, which breaks down the limit between storage and computing for homogeneous chips and integrates data storage with computing, will play a significant role in accelerating the upgrading of industries through artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, according to Tan Jinglun, chief technology officer of ICLeague Technology.

Founded in 2018, ICLeague specializes in developing AI chips. At the early stages of the company's development, its founder invited five renowned experts in chip research and more than 20 professionals to set up a research team for heterogeneous chips.

Since 2016, Haining, which constructed a first-rate pan-semiconductor industrial park in China, has focused on the production of semiconductor equipment, base material and core components.

Last year, the output value of the semiconductor industry in Haining exceeded 10 billion yuan ($1.47 billion), and in the first eight months of this year, the output value of its semiconductor industry soared 34.5 percent year-on-year to 8.7 billion yuan.

The pan-semiconductor industry in Haining has gained greater popularity both in China and abroad.

According to the local government's plan, by 2025, the core industries of the pan-semiconductor industry will generate more than 50 billion yuan in revenue and create 20 relevant companies worth one billion yuan, including two worth more than 10 billion yuan.
