Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, plans to build the Jiaxing Industry Internet Innovation Center as part of its efforts to achieve high-quality development, local media reported on Sept 29.

The news was released at the Jiaxing Summit of the fifth China Industry Internet Conference, held both online and offline in Jiaxing that same day. More than 600 people attended the event in person and nearly 45,000 people participated online.

The innovation center will be built by the Jiaxing municipal government in collaboration with Zhejiang Lanzhuo Industry Internet Information Technology Co Ltd, Zhejiang SUPCON Co Ltd, and the Yangtze Delta Region Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Zhejiang.

It is expected to support Jiaxing's industrial internet, artificial intelligence, and big data industries and release white papers on the industrial Internet industry and industrial industry standards.

Jiaxing, as the core area of the national strategy for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta (YRD), has ramped up its efforts to develop its industrial internet and digital economy in recent years.

Statistics show that the networking rate and digital control rate of industrial equipment in the city are 55.61 percent and 76.38 percent, respectively, both ranking first in Zhejiang.

Moving forward, Jiaxing hopes to become a role model among demonstration zones for the integrated internet development of the YRD.

"As a new type of infrastructure, the industrial internet integrates new-generation information technology with the industrial manufacturing industry," said Ni Ying, deputy director of the Jiaxing economy and information technology bureau, "Therefore, we want to advance the high-quality development of the industrial manufacturing industry by becoming a model city."

To achieve this goal, Jiaxing plans to cultivate 30 industrial internet platforms at the provincial-level or above, encourage 30,000 small- and medium-sized companies to connect with these platforms, and promote the digital transformation and upgrading of 3,000 industrial companies.
