Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province led the province in the integration of informatization and industrialization in 2020, local media recently reported.

This strong performance can be mainly attributed to the city's accurate prediction of the development of industrial internet and to the integrated development of new-generation information technology and the manufacturing industry.

Last year, the rate of industrial equipment with access to a network and to numerical controls in Jiaxing reached 62.09 percent and 79.09 percent, respectively, both ranking first in Zhejiang.

Jiaxing Yuncut Supply Chain Management Co developed an online platform integrating big data, cloud computing, internet of things, and intelligent logistics, offering low-cost and customized solutions for steel plate cutting.

"Traditional steel plate cutting companies usually stay far away from their clients, and traditional cutters are inefficient and generate low-quality products," said Zhong Jinsong, deputy general manager of Yuncut.

He noted that the online platform can not only unite steel plate cutting companies with their clients via the internet, but can also teach them about high-precision cutting technology, slashing costs by 30 percent.

The platform has served more than 200 clients and connected with over 1,200 pieces of equipment. In 2020, Yuncut's sales revenue reached 150 million yuan ($23.07 million) with a compound annual growth rate of nearly 90 percent.

In addition, Jiaxing's economy and information technology bureau formulated plans and rolled out measures to support the upgrading of the industrial internet and shore up the confidence of local companies last year.

This year, the bureau aims to cultivate 10 industrial internet platforms at the provincial level or above and promote the digital transformation and upgrading of 600 industrial companies.
