Jiaxing University in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, hosted a seminar on the maintenance and market demand of aero-engine components on March 21, local media reported.

Six aviation experts were invited to deliver a report on the development and application of additive/subtractive processing technology for repairing the blades of aviation engines.

Blades are an essential part of an aviation engine and are the most difficult component to produce. They are also the most numerous component of aviation engines and are in the highest demand.

Wang Zhiping, professor at the Civil Aviation University of China, believes that the seminar will contribute to the development of China into a country with a strong civil aviation industry and reduce the country's dependence on foreign countries for the maintenance of civil aircraft.

Fang Junliang, Party secretary of Jiaxing University, expressed hope that the seminar would serve as a platform where experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs can share their research achievements and discuss cooperation among research institutes, companies, and universities.

After the seminar, attendees visited the Research Institute of Key Aero-Engine Components and the Public Training Center at Jiaxing University.

Last year, the university established a School of Aeronautics and Orbital Sciences, and since then, it has cooperated closely with industry associations and leading companies in the aviation industry to cultivate more industry professionals.

Moving forward, Jiaxing University will focus on drones, civil aviation parts, and equipment manufacturing relating to aerospace to promote the further development of the aerospace industry in Jiaxing.
