Zhang Bing, Party secretary of Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, met with Shuang Rongqing, board chairman of the Financial Institute of NASDAQ China Limited, on March 25, Jiaxing Daily reported.

Zhang extended a warm welcome to Shuang, as well as gave him an overview on Jiaxing's economic and social development.

He said that as the city is located in the center of the Yangtze River Delta, Jiaxing boasts beautiful natural environment and that its residents enjoy a high quality of life.

The city shows great potential for further development as it is participating in the YRD integration plan, the Belt and Road Initiative, and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, according to the Party secretary.

Jiaxing will prioritize its connection with Shanghai and integration into YRD to achieve rapid development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Zhang added.

He also noted that the Financial Institute of NASDAQ China Limited has played an active role in Chinese companies' overseas expansion and foreign companies' investment in China.

Many companies in Jiaxing desire to seek development in overseas markets and the city also expects more investment from foreign companies. Therefore, there is a wide range of cooperation opportunities between Jiaxing and the institute, said Zhang.

He expressed hopes that both sides would strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the future.

Shuang said that the main business of the financial institute is to guide Chinese companies to go public on the NASDAQ, promote companies listed on the NASDAQ to invest in China, as well as assist Chinese companies in overseas cooperation, among other tasks.

Jiaxing has a sound business environment and is an ideal investment place for many foreign companies. It is also a high-growth hotspot in the eyes of NASDAQ, according to Shuang.

He also added that he expected further cooperation between the institute and Jiaxing in the future.
