Four companies in the service industry in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, generated more than 10 billion yuan ($1.52 billion) in operating revenue last year, according to a recent list of the top 100 service companies by the local development and reform commission.

The list was based on the companies' operating revenues in 2020, which must have been at least 648 million yuan, and banks, securities, and insurance companies were excluded from the list.

The total operating revenue of the listed companies was nearly 202 billion yuan, and six had an operating revenue of more than 5 billion yuan.

The first four shortlisted companies had a total operating revenue of 45.43 billion yuan, accounting for 22.5 percent of the total among companies on the list.

Zhejiang Dongheng Petroleum and Chemical Sales, Storage, and Transportation Co retained the top spot with an operating revenue of 13.42 billion yuan, while BangMang Service Outsourcing Co retained the second spot with an operating revenue of 11.28 billion yuan.

The third and fourth spots went to Jushi Group Co and Zhenshi Holding Group Co with respective operating revenues of 10.59 billion yuan and 10.13 billion yuan.

Two-thirds of the companies on the list are located in Nanhu district, the Jiaxing Economic Development Zone, Haining county-level city, and Tongxiang county-level city.

Last year, Jiaxing took a number of measures to develop its service industry, including offering policy support, holding financing roadshows, bringing in projects, and providing top manager training courses.

Three companies in the service industry went public last year, while two won national recognition.
