The First Forum on China Common Prosperity was held in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province on April 3, local media reported.

Sponsored by Jiaxing University, the two-day forum was attended by more than 100 economists, as well as representatives from local government and companies, among others.

Six authoritative experts and scholars from around the country were invited to deliver keynote speeches at the main forum on the evolution and practice of common prosperity theory, rural revitalization and rural income, as well as income distribution and human capital.

The Report on the Development of New Agricultural Business Entities in China was released by the China Common Prosperity Institute of Jiaxing University at the forum.

More than 30 scholars shared their opinions on relevant topics at the sub-forums.

The China Common Prosperity Institute also inked strategic cooperation agreements with other counterparts at the event, including the Center for Forecasting Science affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Zhejiang Institute of Development and Reform, as well as Zhejiang University's China Academy for Rural Development.

During the annual two sessions of the country's top legislature and political advisory body this year, the country announced its support in the construction of demonstration zones of common prosperity in Zhejiang.

Zhejiang, especially Jiaxing, has been leading the country in integrated rural-urban development. Therefore, Jiaxing University is expected to leverage its advantages in professional disciplines to summarize practical experience and promote theoretical innovation.
