The No 4 berth at Dushan port area, part of Jiaxing Port in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, recently passed the acceptance, Jiaxing Daily reported on April 9.

The new project includes a 50,000-metric ton liquid bulk commodity berth with a shoreline of 235 meters and a loading stage.

Behind the berth are seven petrochemical storage tanks with a total storage capacity of 18,000 cubic meters and other supporting facilities covering an area of 113.2 mu (7.55 hectares).

The berth is expected to alleviate the pressure on the petrochemical wharfs at Dushan port area and improve transport efficiency.

The Dushan port area is one of the three major port areas at Jiaxing Port and also an important water transport hub in northern Zhejiang.

Jiaxing Port was ranked 91st in the world in terms of comprehensive strength in 2020. In the first two months of this year, its cargo throughput experienced a double-digit year-on-year increase to 14.44 million tons.
