Lu Lequn exhibition held to celebrate CPC anniversary

An exhibition showcasing the works of Lu Lequn, a renowned calligrapher from Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, was held in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, on May 17, local media reported.

The exhibition was held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

Jiaxing is the birthplace of the CPC.

In addition to being a renowned calligrapher, Lu is also one of the representatives of Zhejiang calligraphy.

The exhibition displays more than 70 of Lu's works that were created specially for the anniversary. The collection includes poems and essays written by Mao Zedong and other founders of the country and important documents by leaders of China.

At the opening ceremony, the calligrapher donated 20 of his works to the Nanhu Lake Revolutionary Memorial Hall and Jiaxing Museum as well as other works to local museums and libraries.

Sponsored by the Publicity Department of Jiaxing Municipal Party Committee, the Jiaxing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Taizhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the exhibition will last until June 3.
