Residents from Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province are free to visit 11 scenic areas in Aba prefecture, Southwest China's Sichuan province for five years, local media reported on May 22.

On May 21, Liu Ping, Party secretary of Aba, led a delegation on a visit to Jiaxing and made the offer to Jiaxing residents as a gesture of thanks for their support of Aba's poverty alleviation efforts, as well as its sound development.

The preferential period lasts from 2021 to 2025 when Jiaxing residents can enjoy one free admission to all the national A-level scenic areas in Aba with their identity card.

Jiaxing has started its partner assistance program with Aba in 2017. Since then, the two places have witnessed closer cooperation and in recent years, Aba has made significant improvements in its environmental protection, economic development, and public wellbeing improvement efforts.

More importantly, all 13 poverty-stricken counties in Aba have overcome poverty ahead of schedule.

In April, Jiaxing announced a new round of partner assistance to Jiuzhaigou, Ruoergai, Heishui, Songpan, and Mao counties in Aba prefecture, as well as Pingshan county in Yibin in terms of industrial cooperation, product promotion, and labor service cooperation.

Covering an area of 84,200 square kilometers, Aba is located to the southeast of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is the only autonomous prefecture in China for both Tibetan and Qiang ethnic groups.

Sanxingdui Ruins Site, Jiuzhaigou Valley, and the giant panda habitat are a few of the most famous scenic areas in Aba.

5A level:

Jiuzhaigou scenic area; Huanglong scenic area.

4A level:

Siguniang Mountain scenic area; Dagu Glacier scenic area; Huahu Lake ecological tourism area; First Loop of Yellow River scenic area; ancient Qiang town.
