Jiaxing secures 17 foreign-invested projects at Ningbo's fair

Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province signed contracts for 17 foreign-invested projects worth $2.1 billion at the second China-Central and Eastern European Countries Expo & International Consumer Goods Fair held in Ningbo on June 7, the launch day of the four-day event.

The high-end semiconductor auxiliary equipment manufacturing project with the largest investment of $150 million will be located in the China-Singapore Jiashan Modern Industrial Park.

The project is expected to generate more than 2 billion yuan ($312.85 million) in annual output and taxes of over 100 million yuan per year.

Invested by Zoppas Industries, an Italy-based Global Fortune 500 company, the $120 million worth of heating components project will generate 1 billion yuan in annual output and more than 50 million yuan taxes each year.

Statistics show that Jiaxing has brought in 129 foreign-invested projects and its actual utilization of foreign capital has amounted to $1.72 billion, a year-on-year increase of 100.3 percent, since the beginning of this year.

In addition, 45.7 percent of the foreign capital went to high-tech industries.
