All Jiaxing counties make China's top 100 list

All five counties and the county-level cities administered by Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province have made the list of top 100 counties in the country.

The list was compiled by the County Economic Research Center of CCID Consulting based on factors like economic strength, growth potential, local residents' wellbeing, and green development.

Haining (17th)

In the first quarter of this year, Haining's GDP totaled 25.59 billion yuan ($3.96 billion), a year-on-year increase of 22.8 percent. In 2020, the safety index of Haining residents was 97.67 percent, which was higher than the provincial average, according to the provincial statistics department.

Tongxiang (25th)

The GDP of Tongxiang reached 100.3 billion yuan ($15.51 billion) in 2020, entering the cities with 100-billion-yuan GDP club. Its research and development expenditure accounted for 3 percent of its GDP in the same year.

Pinghu (43rd)

Pinghu is focusing on the development of key auto components and equipment manufacturing industries in an effort to create a special industrial cluster.

Jiashan (50th)

The income ratio of urban to rural residents decreased from 1.71 in 2015 to 1.602 in 2020 with more balanced urban-rural development.

Haiyan (91st)

In 2020, 18 pilot projects from Haiyan were recognized as digital economy provincial demonstration projects, the highest number among its counterparts. In addition, the added value of digital economy's core manufacturing in the county increased 13.1 percent year-on-year in the same year.
