Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province had better air quality in the first seven months of the year compared with the same period last year.

Statistics show that the rate of good air quality in the city was 92.5 percent during the period, a 5.6 percent increase year-on-year. The concentration of PM2.5 was 27μg/m3, down 6.9 percent year-on-year.

This improvement can be attributed to the efforts taken by the local government.

In March, Jiaxing released a three-year plan to treat ozone pollution while continuing to strengthen industrial waste gas treatment. Nanhu district also assigned 174 officials the task of managing dust pollution at all the construction sites in the district.

In the second half of the year, Jiaxing will focus on the treatment of vehicle exhaust, flying dust, and smoke from restaurants to further improve the air quality.
