Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province recently published a five-year plan for the high-quality development of its logistics industry.

By 2025, a logistics industry system featuring a sound layout, complete functions, high competitiveness, and distinctive features will take shape in Jiaxing, with "Jiaxing Logistics" becoming another calling card.

By 2035, the logistics industry will deeply integrate with local economic and social development, as well as play a crucial role in the national logistics infrastructure network.

To achieve these targets, the city will focus on the integrated development of sea ports, land ports, airports, and infoports, as well as improve logistics facilities, including roads, waterways, and railways. It will also optimize delivery service, develop new logistics infrastructure, cultivate more logistics companies, as well as promote the intelligent management and control of logistics safety.

During the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) period, the logistics industry's added value in Jiaxing increased by an average of 6.7 percent annually. In 2020, the industry's added value in the city totaled 15.55 billion yuan, accounting for 2.8 percent of its total GDP.

A total of 8,276 kilometers of roads in Jiaxing opened to traffic, and the city housed 176.8 km of railways and three railway freight stations.

Jiaxing Port was listed among the top 100 ports worldwide in container throughput.

As of the end of 2020, the city had housed 215 logistics companies above designated size and these companies generated 20.59 billion yuan in operating revenue in 2020.

Over the past five years, Jiaxing authorities also published measures to offer a more favorable business environment for the logistics industry.
