The delicacies of Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province were featured on a program on CCTV-2, national broadcaster CCTV's finance and economics channel, on Sept 13.

Weidefeng's sauced goose

The brand name "Weidefeng" comes from a poem that was written after the poet tasted sauced goose during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Weidefeng's sauced goose appeals to the taste of modern people, while reserving ancient culinary skills.

South Lake Boat Dishes

Consisting of "eight big bowls and eight small bowls", South Lake Boat Dishes create a stunning sight on the table for gourmands. The ingredients are sourced from local raw materials, such as lotus roots, shrimp, and crab, lending it the authentic cuisine of water towns.

Jiaxing light refreshments

Jiaxing Xidian, or Jiaxing light refreshments, boasts great variety, including osmanthus sugar cake, crunchy rice candy, ginger sugar, steamed stuffed bun, zongzi, and small wontons, all of which can be tasted at the Jiahu Xidian experience center in Moon River Historic District.

Fried shumai

Jiaxing natives rave about the fried shumai at Youmai Yike. Its two most popular shumai are fried egg yolk shumai stuffed with an entire yummy egg yolk, as well as well-steamed glutinous rice and winter bamboo shoot with fresh meat shumai, a must-eat dish in the winter.
