Jiaxing Port's cargo throughput up 15.31%

The cargo throughput of Jiaxing Port in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province increased 15.31 percent year-on-year to 96.22 million metric tons in the first three quarters of the year.

The figure includes 1.64 million tons of twenty-feet equivalent units, a year-on-year increase of 19.98 percent.

Jiaxing Port also delivered 21.96 million tons of cargo via river-sea combined transportation in the first nine months of the year, a year-on-year increase of 5.74 percent. The figure includes 324,800 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 48.94 percent.

All port areas in Jiaxing performed well during the period.

The cargo throughput of Zhapu, Dushan, and Haiyan port areas reached 46.37 million tons, 38.13 million tons, and 11.71 million tons, with year-on-year increases of 2.22 percent, 27.19 percent, and 44.65 percent respectively.

The port also launched two more routes reaching Vietnam and Russia in the Jan-Sept period.
