Photovoltaic industrial cluster taking shape in Xiuzhou

LONGi Solar, a world-leading solar technology company, will establish a research and development headquarters and an intelligent chip control system manufacturing plant in Xiuzhou district, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province.

The news was released at a signing ceremony held in Xiuzhou National High-tech Zone on Oct 27.

The plant will be able to manufacture 100 gigawatts of intelligent chip control products each year to promote the digital transformation of photovoltaic industry. It is expected to generate more than 3 billion yuan ($469.37 million) in output after being put into operation.

In recent years, Xiuzhou district has taken measures to create a photovoltaic industrial chain by attracting leading companies.

In the first nine months of the year, the output value of the photovoltaic industry in Xiuzhou surged 347.7 percent year-on-year and its proportion to the output of industries above designated size improved from 6.5 percent in 2020 to 17.5 percent. The figure is expected to exceed 20 percent this year.

LONGi is recognized as the world's most valuable solar technology company and supplies more than 30 GW of high-efficiency solar wafers and modules per year, about a quarter of the global market demand.
