1,394 Jiaxing companies seeking cooperation at CIIE

A total of 1,394 companies and 6,192 purchasers from Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province have registered for the ongoing fourth China International Import Expo, which opened on Nov 4 in Shanghai.

In addition, four Jiaxing companies have been invited to attend the expo, namely LEGO, Kapal Api, BioAsia Biotech, and Wingtech Technology.

Jiaxing-based Jushi Group Co Ltd inked a $100 million cooperation agreement on precious metals with Standard Chartered Bank at the fourth CIIE Zhejiang Delegation Import Procurement Signing ceremony on Nov 7.

With a total asset value of more than 30 billion yuan ($4.69 billion), Jushi is a world-leading fiberglass manufacturer and owns five manufacturing bases in Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Sichuan provinces as well as Egypt, and the United States

Twenty-two purchasers from Zhejiang signed cooperation agreements with 25 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions at the event this year with a total value of 13.19 billion yuan, a 3.2 percent increase from the previous CIIE.

On top of that, Pinghu, a county-level city in Jiaxing, was selected for the second batch of Zhejiang Import Trade Promotion and Innovation Demonstration at the expo.

In recent years, import trade has developed rapidly in Pinghu with the annual increase rate of more than 15 percent from 2016 to 2020, and in 2020, the city housed seven companies with an annual import value of over 1 billion yuan.
