Jiaxing student wins gold awards at intl events

Wen Beijia, a second-year student at Jiaxing No 1 Middle School, recently won gold at the 73rd International Trade Fair for Ideas, Inventions and New Products as well as at the 14th World Creative Festival.

The two events were held in Nuremberg, Germany on Nov 4 but the appraisal for the two events were held online due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Germany.

Wen's award-winning submission is an intelligent shopping guide machine for supermarkets that can offer advice to shoppers and supports online payment.

The advice given is based on the conditions of the shopper, with factors including age, gender, and health conditions.

Wen's tutor Pan Luxi also won the golden instructor award of the International Invention Program at the 14th World Creative Festival.

Established in 1948, iENA Inventor' Fair is the most influential invention exhibition in the world and attracts more than 800 exhibits from over 30 countries each year. To date, more than 30,000 inventions have been showcased at the fair.
