Jiaxing publishes plan for digital economic development
Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province recently published a five-year plan for its digital economic development, local media reported on Jan 12.
The plan states that by 2025, the comprehensive strength of Jiaxing's digital economy would be ranked in the forefront of the province and the added value of its core digital economic industries is expected to reach 135 billion yuan ($21.23 billion), accounting for 15 percent of its regional GDP.
Over the following years, Jiaxing will focus on the development of special industries such as integrated circuit, software and information technology service, and digital security, as well as emerging industries like flexible electronics, artificial intelligence, and internet of vehicles.
By 2025, Jiaxing would upgrade 3,000 traditional factories into intelligent ones and establish 100 digital workshops.
By that same year, the annual online sales revenue in Jiaxing would amount to 300 billion yuan, and from 2021 to 2025, the average annual growth rate of cross-border e-commerce industry in the city is expected to exceed 20 percent.
