Companies in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, invested 30 billion yuan ($4.72 billion) in digital reform last year, local media reported.

Thanks to these efforts, the city became home to an additional 2,685 industrial robots and 18 provincial-level digital factories last year.

Digital reform aims to achieve intelligent manufacturing via networks and digital means and is also a way to promote the construction of digital workshops and intelligent factories, according to the Jiaxing municipal economic and information technology bureau.

In recent years, Jiaxing has accelerated the digital transformation of its manufacturing industries to make them more environmentally friendly and service-oriented.

The city currently houses a large group of intelligent manufacturing companies, some of which have received provincial and national recognition.

For example, the intelligent chemical fiber factory of Xin Feng Ming Group Co Ltd was recognized as a demonstration intelligent manufacturing factory in 2021 by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Furthermore, the auto parts factory of Jiaxing Minhua Auto Parts Co Ltd and the polyester filament future factory of Xin Feng Ming were identified as provincial-level future factories last year.

In addition, the Jiaxing Digital 3D Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute started operating in the Tongxiang Economic Development Zone in 2021. With its focus on the research and development of digital medical technology and 3D printing technology, the institute is expected to boost intelligent manufacturing industries.
