An e-commerce base in Puyuan Textile City, Tongxiang, a county-level city in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, was recently included in the provincial list of livestreaming e-commerce bases, according to the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce.

Since its establishment, the livestreaming e-commerce base of the Puyuan Textile City has encouraged enterprises and operators to use online platforms such as Douyin (known as TikTok abroad), Kuaishou (a short-video platform) and Mogujie (an online shopping community) to explore new marketing methods and tap new markets.

In addition, the base provides free training resources for operators every week, including courses related to livestreaming, product selection strategy and management strategy.

To date, the base has held nearly 30 training sessions that involve more than 700 people.

Xu Yamei, a woolen sweater merchant at Puyuan Textile City, has sold thousands of yuan worth of goods during each livestreaming event after picking up livestreaming skills at the e-commerce base.

The livestreaming e-commerce base, which currently has contracts with 268 business owners, generates 1.7 billion yuan ($253.35 million) in online retail sales annually.
