Zhejiang unveils action plan to raise public legal awareness
East China's Zhejiang province has announced an action plan to carry out publicity and education campaigns to further improve public awareness of the law.
According to the plan, Zhejiang province aims to establish a benchmark and evaluation index system for citizens' legal literacy by the end of 2022. A more effective legal publicity working system will be put in place by the end of 2023. Law-based social governance and citizens' legal literacy in the province are both expected to improve significantly by 2025.
The action plan emphasizes enhancing legal awareness by promoting common knowledge of law and the concept of the rule of law. Real-life legal cases and examples of legal risks will be regularly published to help citizens gain a better understanding of the law.
The action plan also includes a digital component that revolves around the development of digital applications to help with legal publicity.
