Han Qifang: expert in cable manufacturing
Han Qifang, a tech expert at Zhejiang Chenguang Cable Co Ltd in Pinghu, a county-level city in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, has been devoted to cable manufacturing for 29 years and made a number of major contributions to the field.

The national skilled master studio led by Han has received more than 20 invention patents, over 30 scientific and technological achievements and completed more than 40 technical research projects.
In 1993, Han started his work at Chenguang Cable, where he worked as a wire-drawer.
To improve cable quality, the company introduced the most advanced cross-linking production line in the world from Finland at that time, worth 30 million yuan ($4.5 million) in 1994.
Soon after the production line was put into operation, Han found that more than 300 meters of line were wasted each time the equipment was turned on, which was standard in the eyes of many foreign engineers.
However, Han spent a year and a half working on a new operation model that reduced the amount of line that was wasted from more than 300 meters to less than 30 meters. That year, the new model helped reduce production costs by more than 800,000 yuan.
With Han's key technical support and tireless research, Chenguang Cable became the supplier of many large-scale events such as the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Shanghai World Expo and the G20 Hangzhou Summit.
