East China's Zhejiang province has set the goal of making its villages wealthier and improving the lives of farmers in 2022.

Authorities are aiming to have the total income generated by the village level collective economy reach 77 billion yuan ($11.4 billion) and the dividend of collective economy reach 12 billion yuan this year.

Under the control of professional technicians, a "plant protection UAV" sprinkled pesticides on rape flowers in an orderly manner, which improved the work efficiency.

The per capita disposable income of rural residents is expected to reach 38,000 yuan, while the income gap between urban and rural residents will be narrowed to 1.93.

At present, 1,055 projects are being implemented in the province to help revive impoverished villages, and each of the 12,750 participating villages have on average earned an investment return of 153,800 yuan.

Meanwhile, 1,347 enterprises have been established in "advanced villages" – places deemed to have outstanding economy and culture - within the province. Last year, these enterprises created 1.685 billion yuan in profit for rural areas in Zhejiang province.

To improve the marketization level of collective economic development, Zhejiang will implement the cultivation plan of enterprises of "advanced villages," promote the efficient operations of enterprises of such villages and expand the village collective economy.
