Exhibition of ancient Chinese paintings to be unveiled in Jiaxing
A special exhibition entitled "A Great Series of Chinese Paintings of the Past Dynasties", which gathers 1,003 copies of ancient Chinese paintings, will be held at the Jiaxing Art Museum on June 24, according to local media reports.
A Great Series of Chinese Paintings of the Past Dynasties, compiled and published by Zhejiang University and the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Cultural Heritage, has collected 12,479 pieces (sets) of Chinese paintings from more than 260 cultural institutions at home and abroad in the past 17 years.

With an exhibition area of more than 5,200 square meters, the special exhibition in Jiaxing presents the achievements of ancient Chinese paintings reflected in A Great Series of Chinese Paintings of the Past Dynasties by using diversified display techniques such as images, texts and new media technology.
The collection of Xiang Yuanbian, a famous collector from Jiaxing in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), including calligraphy works, paintings and seals, will be displayed at the exhibition.
The exhibition was previously held at the Art Museum of the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Zhejiang University Museum of Art and Archaeology and Zhejiang Art Museum. In the second half of this year, the exhibition will also be held at the National Museum of China.
