89 projects attracted to Jiaxing in H1
Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province attracted 89 foreign funded projects in the first half of this year, local media reported on July 15.
Among them, 44 projects each received an investment of over $100 million, the most in the province. Meanwhile, 45 foreign funded projects were introduced from Fortune 500 companies and leading enterprises in global industries.
In the first half of this year, the city's foreign investment in actual use amounted to $2.28 billion, the third highest in the province.
From January to May, the city's high-tech industries actually received $892 million in foreign capital, accounting for 53.9 percent of the city's total – 5.6 percentage points higher than the provincial average. Meanwhile, the actual use of foreign capital in the manufacturing industry was $556 million, the highest in the province and accounting for 33.6 percent of the city's total – 12.4 percentage points higher than the provincial average.
In the first six months, 73 foreign-funded enterprises in the city increased investment by $1.7 billion, up 46.6 percent year-on-year.
In addition, to attract more foreign funded projects to Jiaxing, the city's commerce authorities helped solve difficulties such as foreigners' medical treatment and children's schooling. In the first half of this year, the business system handled 303 invitation letters to China for 523 people from 143 enterprises.
