Ruoergai county in Aba Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Sichuan province and Nanhu district in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province established a pairing assistance relationship in 2016 and the county has experienced rapid development over the past seven years.

The poverty alleviation industrial base in Ruoergai county is one of the industrial platforms jointly built by Nanhu district and Ruoergai county.

Three enterprises in the park have already started operating, and three more will complete the installation of production lines this year and are expected to be put into operation by the end of October.

Weilin Plateau Pharmaceutical Co Ltd moved to the base in May 2021. The company now has more than 50 employees and the output value exceeded 60 million yuan ($8.88 million). It also purchases medicinal materials from villagers in surrounding areas, which has created jobs for over 3,000 people.

In addition, Nanhu district has helped the county develop agricultural parks.

Last year, the first crop of plums yielded 25,000 kilograms, and the online and offline sales revenue reached 400,000 yuan. This is nearly 10 time more per mu than previous highland barley crops.

Nanhu district plans to invest 3.6 million yuan into the construction of supporting facilities in agricultural parks, such as plank roads and frozen warehouses.

To solve the water shortages in the county's Xiaman town, Nanhu district invested 18.5 million yuan this year to build a 1,000-square-meter waterworks, which will meet the water needs of more than 8,000 people in the town.

In addition, since 2018, Nanhu district has developed an "employment workshop" in the county, focusing on traditional food, ethnic clothing and Tibetan handicrafts, and invested nearly 3 million yuan to provide jobs and employment subsidies for local residents, especially women and the disabled.
