First phase of Zhejiang University Innovation Center of Yangtze River Delta opens

The first phase of the Zhejiang University Innovation Center of the Yangtze River Delta located in Xiangfudang, Jiashan, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, officially opened on Sept 6.

The innovation center jointly built by Jiaxing, Jiashan county and Zhejiang University, is a strategic platform to jointly boost the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta integration, said Wu Zhaohui, principle of Zhejiang University.

The innovation center will focus on the construction of four platforms including scientific and technological research and development, industrial transformation, talent training and decision-making consultation.

Under the leadership of several academicians, four laboratories will be established at the innovation center, focusing on future food, future health, future design and future regional development, respectively.

The future food laboratory will focus on researching the creation of targeted healthy functional food, key technologies for food flavor and texture reorganization, key technologies and equipment for flexible food intelligent manufacturing and food biosynthesis manufacturing.

The future health laboratory will focus on smart ecology, nucleic acid health, systematic immunity, and future traditional Chinese medicine.

The future design laboratory focuses on key technologies and systems of intelligent design, human-computer integration, and future media, as well as green design theory and method technology.

The future regional development laboratory will focus on exploring the theory of future regional development in advance, and provide scientific decision-making support for the high-quality integrated development and common prosperity of the Yangtze River Delta.
