​Jiaxing's tourism prospers during Mid-Autumn Festival holiday

During the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, 12 key tourist attractions and resorts in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province received 263,312 tourists, and the ticket income exceeded 7 million yuan ($998,866).

Local tourists still focused on short- and medium-distance self-driving tours and family visits during the holiday.

According to official statistics, as of Sept 12, during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the city had held 535 offline public cultural activities with 144,966 participants and 64 online public cultural activities with 116,384 participants.

On Sept 8, the opening ceremony of the 29th Qiantang River (Haining) Tide Watching Festival was held in the Yanguan Scenic Area. During the festival, six events were held, including Yue Opera performances, open-air movies, and food exhibitions, attracting 40,000 tourists. A livestream was also held to broadcast spectacular Qiantang River tides.

On Sept 10 and 11, more than 48,000 people visited the Yuehe Historic Block and sales reached 120,000 yuan, according to an official from the Jiaxing municipal culture and tourism bureau.
