Qiantang River enters best viewing period

The 18th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar is the traditional "Tide Watching Day" of the Qiantang River.

Due to typhoon Muifa, large tidal bores can be seen along the Qiantang River in Haining, Jiaxing.

Spectacular returning tidal bores and one-line tidal bores of the Qiantang River attracted a large number of tourists to to the Yanguan Tourist Resort in Haining.

The Haining tide, also known as the Qianjiang tide, is famous for its one-line tidal bore.

The popularity of watching tides in Haining can be traced back over 2,000 years. Haining tides have been described in Zhuangzi and Records of the Historian.
