Jiaxing's Zhapu town recently ranked 23rd on the list of the top 500 towns with high quality development in China.

In 2021, Zhapu town contributed 6.4 percent of Jiaxing's industrial added value, 6.5 percent of its total profits and 6.4 percent of its total profits and taxes; the per capita disposable income of Zhapu's urban and rural residents increased by 9.7 percent and 10 percent year-on-year respectively.

In 2021, the total industrial output value of the town was 96.1 billion yuan ($13.43 billion), an increase of 33.3 percent. The industrial added value of enterprises above designated size reached 16.5 billion yuan, an uptick of 7.8 percent. In the first half of this year, the total industrial output value amounted to 53.79 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.7 percent.

According to the latest data, in the first half of this year, the total number of market entities in the town expanded 3.32 percent year-on-year to 911.

In terms of living environment, the rate of good air quality in the town reached 91.9 percent, and its PM2.5 air quality index ranked first in Jiaxing.

In addition, in the first half of this year, the per capita disposable income ratio of urban and rural residents in Zhapu town reached 1.44.
