As temperatures drop, Puyuan town in Tongxiang, Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, the largest woolen sweater production and sales center in China, has witnessed a sharp increase in woolen sweater sales, and the products have become popular overseas.

Data showed that woolen sweaters in Puyuan saw 56.89 billion yuan ($7.91 million) in sales from January to September.

Zhejiang Huigang Fashion Co Ltd based in Puyuan town is a clothing enterprise engaged in the development and sale of all kinds of sweaters. Its products are exported to Spain, Italy, France, Japan and the United States.

As of Oct 15, more than 6 million products had been produced this year, with sales valued at more than $50 million, an increase of 10 percent over the same period last year.

"We have already begun developing sweaters for next spring and summer," said Shen Qiang, general manager of the company.

The company has attached great importance to the innovation of clothing research and design. Its annual investment in research and development has exceeded 5 million yuan. Its raw material selection, craft production and pattern design have been praised by foreign customers.
