The preliminary design of the southern section of the Haining Guanchao Railway Station of the Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport High-speed Railway was recently approved by the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission, local media reported on Oct 17.

The Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport High-speed Railway aims to build an air-rail intermodal transport system and plays an important role in improving the rail transit network in the Yangtze River Delta.

The southern section of the railway's Haining Guanchao Railway Station is about 70 kilometers. It passes through Haining city in Jiaxing, Qiantang district and Xiaoshan district in Hangzhou and Keqiao district in Shaoxing. Stations including Haining Guanchao Railway Station Station, Qiantang Station and Xiaoshan Airport Station will be built and the railway will be connected to Shaoxing North Station.

In the future, high-speed rail is expected to be available from Xiaoshan airport to Taizhou, Jinhua and Huangshan via the Shanghai-Zhapu-Hangzhou railway and the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou railway connected with the high-speed railway. It will also become more convenient to travel to and from core cities in the Yangtze River Delta such as Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou.
