Jiaxing Customs in East China's Zhejiang province issued more than 8,340 Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) certificates of origin worth $409 million for enterprises in Jiaxing in the first three quarters of this year, helping enterprises reduce import tariffs on exported goods by about 27.2 million yuan ($3.74 million).

According to official statistics, Jiaxing Customs issued 421,900 certificates of origin for various free trade agreements worth $16.141 billion from 2012 to 2021, reducing import tariffs for enterprises by 5.24 billion yuan.

Over the past 10 years, the total value of certificates of origin and the amount of tariff reductions under free trade agreements in the city jumped from $494 million and 145 million yuan in 2012 to $2.97 billion and 945 million yuan in 2021, respectively.

This year, to accelerate the issuance of RCEP certificates of origin, Jiaxing Customs has carried out paperless declaration relying on the construction of an electronic network of origin, introduced an intelligent audit system and offered certificate self-printing services.

In addition, the customs launched certificate express services, which greatly reduced costs for Jiaxing enterprises and the overall processing time.
