Africa's largest glass fiber production base starts operation

The glass fiber production line of China Jushi Egypt Glass Fiber Co Ltd started operating in Egypt on Dec 15, according to local media reports.

The production line is expected to produce 120,000 metric tons of glass fiber annually.

After the production line begins operating, the production capacity of Jushi Egypt glass fiber base will reach 320,000 tons annually, making it the largest glass fiber production base in Africa and making Egypt the fourth largest producer of glass fiber in the world.

In addition, the highly automated and intelligent production line designed by China Jushi Group Co Ltd will be able to generate an additional $100 million in foreign exchange earnings for Egypt every year.

Jushi Egypt was funded by China Jushi Group Co Ltd in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province.

Since its establishment in 2012, Jushi Egypt has completed construction on four glass fiber production lines and supporting projects, with a total investment of nearly $1 billion.

The establishment of Jushi Egypt has stimulated the booming development of Egypt's mineral, packaging material and sanitary ware industrial chains, creating more than 2,000 jobs for locals.
