The added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in Jiaxing reached 256.95 billion yuan ($36.9 billion) from January to November, a year-on-year increase of 4.7 percent.
Investment in the city's manufacturing industry totaled 88.76 billion yuan, up 18.4 percent year-on-year.
In recent years, equipment automation, intelligent production, management information, market networking and digital industrialization have been applied in the city's manufacturing industry, becoming new engines for the high-quality development of the industry.
For example, in the "future factory" of China Jushi Co Ltd, the number of employees on the production line with an annual output of 150,000 metric tons of fiberglass has been reduced from 1,200 to 300, and annual per capita output has increased from 320 tons to more than 500 tons, relying on the application of industrial robots and Internet of things technologies.
In 2023, the city will strive to increase its industrial added value by 7 percent to exceed 300 billion yuan. Investment in manufacturing is expected to exceed 100 billion yuan, and the added value of core industries in the digital economy is expected to account for 12 percent of GDP.
