Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province will strive to become a more open city in the next five years, according to the second plenary session of the ninth CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee on Dec 23.

The city is strong in foreign trade. From January to November, the value of its exports saw a year-on-year increase of 18.2 percent.

Currently, more than 8,000 enterprises in the city trade with more than 220 countries and regions. The city ranked 27th on the 2021 list of China's top 100 foreign trade cities.

In the future, to expand exports, the city will strengthen cooperation with overseas warehouses, leading enterprises' overseas marketing networks and domestic enterprises and encourage enterprises to build direct overseas sales centers and commission sales networks.

From January to November, the city approved 80 overseas investment projects and its foreign direct investment recorded $3.12 billion, a year-on-year growth of 266.4 percent.

To further improve overseas investment cooperation, the city will help leading enterprises strengthen cooperation with national industrial chains and supply chains of RCEP members, cultivating a number of local private multinational companies with international competitiveness.

In addition, the city will leverage the Qualified Foreign Limited Partnership (QFLP) pilot program and Zhejiang RCEP high-level opening and cooperation demonstration zone to introduce more high-quality foreign investment projects.
