Jiaxing to host 20th Asian Marathon Championships

Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province will host the 20th Asian Marathon Championships, according to the Asian Athletics Association.
The 2025 Asian Marathon Championships are set to be held in Jiaxing in March 2025, and 45 member associations of the Asian Athletics Association will send athletes to the event.
Gen. Dahlan Al Hamad, president of the Asian Athletics Association, said that Jiaxing has a lot of experience hosting international competitions and he expects the city to succeed in holding the marathon championships.
Guided by the Asian Athletics Association, Chinese Athletics Association, and Sport Bureau of Zhejiang Province, Jiaxing will spare no effort to prepare for the event.
Since its first edition in Japan in 1988, the Asian Marathon Championships has become one of the most renowned intercontinental marathon competitions in Asia.
From 2002 to 2022, three Chinese cities, including Beijing (once), Hong Kong (four times), and Dongguan (twice), have hosted the Asian Marathon Championships.
The 2023 Asian Marathon Championships are scheduled to take place in Hong Kong in November.
