Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province produced 157,000 new energy vehicles in 2022, the highest output in the province and accounting for 26 percent of the provincial total.

In 2022, Nezha delivered 155,460 new energy vehicles, a surge of 118 percent year-on-year and making it the first new brand with annual sales exceeding 150,000 units.

The city currently has two vehicle manufacturers, Great Wall Motor and He Zhong Auto Group, attracting automobile-related enterprises to the city.

Centering on the industrial chain of new energy vehicles, the city has 226 above-designated-size automobile and parts enterprises involving key battery materials, powertrain systems, automatic transmissions, turbochargers, gear and single cell structural parts.

In 2022, the output value of the city's above-designated-size automobile and parts enterprises exceeded 50 billion yuan ($7.37 billion) and the added value reached 13.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 22.8 percent.

In addition, the city has promoted the construction of charging infrastructure for new energy vehicles.

By the end of 2022, 36,000 electric vehicle charging piles had been installed in the city.

A one-time charging fee subsidy of 1,000 yuan will be given to those who purchase new energy vehicles and build charging piles for personal use, according to the government.
