Jiaxing sees boom in tourism during Spring Festival holiday

A-level scenic spots and 3A-level scenic villages in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province received a total of 1.7 million tourists during the Spring Festival holiday, generating 268 million yuan ($39.5 million) in tourism revenue, according to the Jiaxing culture, radio, film and tourism administration.

As of 2:00 pm on Jan 27, the city's A-level scenic spots received 1.25 million tourists, generating a total revenue of 254 million yuan, while 3A-level scenic villages received 446,400 tourists, generating a total revenue of 14.31 million yuan.

The per capita consumption among tourists to the city's A-level scenic spots and 3A-level scenic villages was 159.38 yuan, an increase of 134.8 percent compared with 2022, while the per capita consumption of large scenic spots such as Wuzhen and Xitang ancient towns exceeded 450 yuan.

The city's three 5A scenic spots received 733,200 tourists in total and generated 34 million yuan in ticket revenue, accounting for 58.40 percent and 88.39 percent of the city's total A-level scenic spots.

During the holiday, the city received over 1.44 million non-local tourists, 171.24 percent more than the same period last year. Tourists from within the province accounted for 51.4 percent, while tourists from outside the province accounted for 48 percent.
