Jiaxing income grows in 2022

The per capita disposable income of rural residents in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, was 46,276 yuan ($6,825) in 2022, an increase of 6.1 percent over last year, according to the Jiaxing investigation team of the National Bureau of Statistics.

The average income of farmers in the city has ranked first in the province for the past 19 years. Meanwhile, the city's urban-rural income ratio narrowed to less than 1.6 in 2022, the smallest in the province.

With the introduction of industrial projects, the Pinghu agricultural development zone has increased the comprehensive income of local farmers by more than 50 million yuan, including salaries, land rent and the village dividend income. The average annual growth rate of local farmers' average income has stayed above 9.5 percent.

Li Yongfa, a resident of Longmeng village in the Pinghu agricultural development zone, now can earn more than 4,000 yuan a month easily by managing vegetable seedlings.

The growth elements of water, fertilizer, air, heat and light required by vegetable seedlings are all intelligently controlled. One person can cultivate millions of vegetable seedlings a year.

In addition, Tongxiang Puyuan Digital Fashion Star City, which was jointly funded by 91 administrative villages of Tongxiang and nine administrative villages of Longquan city in Lishui, started generating revenue. Each village received a dividend ranging from 100,000 yuan to 500,000 yuan, based on an annual investment return of 10 percent.
