Aoshan Lantern Show to kick off in Xincheng

The lighting ceremony of the 24th Aoshan Lantern Show will kick off in Xincheng town, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, on the evening of Jan 30, according to local media reports.

The lantern show will last for nine days. It consists of three lantern themes, and visitors can admire ancient palace lanterns, colored lanterns and modern lanterns.

A total of 3,000 colored lanterns will be on display during the show.

Festive paper umbrella lanterns, a Zhejiang provincial intangible cultural heritage item, will also be displayed at the show.
